No Place Like Home Care is a nurse-led, non-medical private-duty home care agency founded by Kelly Tyrrell, RN — a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience in home health, care management, skilled rehabilitation, and executive healthcare leadership.
We serve adults and seniors aged 18 and older across Berks, Lehigh, Lancaster, and Montgomery Counties in southeastern Pennsylvania.
What we provide is non-medical home care — personal care, companionship, memory support, respite, and more. What we don't provide is skilled nursing, medication administration, or clinical services. That clarity matters to us, because it means you always know exactly what you're getting and who is responsible for what.
Every care plan is developed and overseen by a registered nurse. Every caregiver is screened, trained, and matched thoughtfully to your loved one's needs and personality. Every family receives the communication, visibility, and follow-through that a nurse-led agency is built to provide.
No Place Like Home Care is licensed and regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We accept private pay and long-term care insurance (LTCI). We do not currently accept Medicaid or Medicare.
Our non-medical home care services are designed to meet you exactly where you
are — whether your loved one needs a few hours of companionship each week,
continuous live-in support, or specialized care for dementia, a chronic condition,
or hospital recovery. Every service is guided by a nurse and delivered by a
trained, matched caregiver.
Hands-on support for the daily routines that have become harder to manage alone —bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance, and medication reminders. Our caregivers provide patient, dignified personal care that preserves independence and protects the safety of your loved one at home.
For loved ones who need continuous support, our live-in and 24-hour care options provide around-the-clock caregiver presence — ensuring safety, consistency, and peace of mind for the entire family, day and night. Offered at a transparent flat daily rate. Ask us about our current rates during
your in-home assessment.
You care for your loved one every day. Respite care gives you scheduled relief —a few hours, a full day, or a weekend block — so you can rest, attend to your own needs, or simply breathe, without worry. You were meant to be their daughter, son, or spouse. Not their full-time caregiver.
Coming home from the hospital is rarely as straightforward as it sounds. The days immediately following discharge are among the most critical — and most vulnerable— for your loved one's recovery. Our hospital-to-home support services provide the non-medical daily assistance families need to make that transition safer, calmer, and more sustainable.
Tailored for seniors returning home after orthopedic procedures — hip replacements, knee replacements, and similar surgeries. Our caregivers assist with safe transfers, walker and mobility support, light meal preparation, and keeping the recovery environment organized and obstacle-free.
Designed for individuals adjusting to one-sided weakness, speech changes, or new mobility limitations after a stroke. Our caregivers provide modified personal care, adapted meal preparation, safe daily movement assistance, and support for the home exercise routines prescribed by your therapy team.
For clients managing Congestive Heart Failure or recovering from a cardiac event. Our caregivers assist with low-sodium meal preparation, daily weight monitoring reminders, medication reminders, and careful activity support — working alongside
your medical team's care plan.
Specialized support for seniors recovering from severe respiratory illness. Our caregivers assist with energy conservation during daily activities, maintain a clean home environment to support healing, and provide the consistent presence that recovery — and rest — requires.
Memory changes, dementia, and Alzheimer's require more than task completion. They require patience, consistency, and a caregiver who understands the rhythms, dignity, and emotional life of your loved one — not just their care needs. Our cognitive and memory care support is non-medical and relationship-driven. We work alongside your medical team, not in place of it.
Focused care during the late afternoon and early evening hours — when dementia symptoms most often intensify. Our caregivers provide calming environmental adjustments, gentle redirection, consistent routine, and a steady, reassuring presence during the most challenging hours of the day.
For seniors recently diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia. Our caregivers support structured daily routines, meaningful social engagement, memory friendly activities, and accompanied outings — preserving connection, purpose, and dignity during the early stages.
For late-stage clients, our caregivers focus on non verbal communication, sensory comfort through music and gentle touch, complete personal hygiene care, and skin integrity — delivered with patience, gentleness, and profound respect for the dignity that every person carries to the very end.
Caregivers trained in rhythmic walking cueing, managing tremors during meals using adaptive utensils, and providing calm, steady guidance during freezing episodes. Parkinson's support that goes beyond standard personal care — because Parkinson's is not a standard condition.
Living with a chronic condition doesn't mean leaving home. Our non-medical caregivers provide daily support tailored to specific conditions — built around your loved one's routines, care plan, and the guidance of their medical team.
Assistance with diabetic-friendly grocery shopping, low glycemic meal preparation, foot observation support, and blood sugar testing reminders. Daily, consistent support built around the routines and monitoring your medical team recommends.
Patient, gentle support for clients managing intense joint stiffness — warm compress application, dressing adapted to limited hand and wrist mobility, household tasks that require grip strength, and personal care routines delivered with care for the discomfort that is often invisible.
For legally blind or visually impaired seniors, our caregivers organize household items with high-contrast markers, read mail and correspondence aloud, eliminate tripping hazards, and guide safe indoor and outdoor movement — preserving independence despite vision loss.
Flexible, compassionate support built around chemotherapy or radiation schedules. Our caregivers assist with hydration, nausea friendly meal preparation, a clean and sanitized home environment, and the kind of steady companionship that matters most during one of life's most difficult seasons.
Working alongside your medical hospice team — not in place of it — we provide emotional support, overnight vigil sitting, light housekeeping, and respite for grieving family members. We do not provide medical hospice services. We provide presence. Companionship. And relief for the families who need it most.
As a nurse, Kelly had spent years watching a reality that most families carry quietly —the exhaustion of managing care alone, the guilt, the fear that follows a hospital discharge or a new diagnosis, the moment a family realizes their parent may no longer be safe at home.
Through years of clinical experience, one thing became clear: families weren't just looking for help with tasks. They were looking for peace of mind. They were looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and trustworthy — someone who would treat their loved one with genuine dignity and communicate clearly enough to make them feel less alone. No Place Like Home Care was built to be exactly that.
Kelly Tyrrell is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience spanning home health nursing, care management, skilled rehabilitation, and executive healthcare leadership. She founded No Place Like Home Care on a conviction that most families carry quietly: that the people they love deserve dependable, dignified care at home — and that finding it shouldn't feel like starting from zero.
Every care plan at No Place Like Home Care is developed and overseen by Kelly personally. Every caregiver is vetted, trained, and matched with a nurse's eye for clinical judgment and a human eye for compatibility. And every family that works with NPLHC has something rare in home care: a registered nurse in their corner — not just at intake, but throughout the life of the relationship.
If you are navigating care for someone you love — whether the need is urgent or you are simply trying to plan ahead — Kelly and her team would be honored to talk through what your family needs. No pressure, no checklist. Just a conversation.

We know that choosing home care raises a lot of questions.
Here are the ones families ask us most — answered honestly.
Home health care is medical care ordered by a physician and provided by licensed clinicians — skilled nurses, physical therapists, or occupational therapists. Home care, also called non-medical home care, is custodial support for daily life: personal care, companionship, meal preparation, household support, and routine — without a doctor's order required. No Place Like Home Care is a non-medical home care agency.
Non-medical home care includes personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility support), companion care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation and errands, medication reminders, and specialized support for conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's, or chronic illness. No Place Like Home Care provides all of these services throughout Berks, Lehigh, Lancaster, and Montgomery Counties.
Home care is designed for adults aged 18 and older who want to remain safely at home but need additional support. This includes seniors managing the effects of aging, individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's, adults recovering from surgery or illness, those living with chronic conditions, and family caregivers who need scheduled relief. If you are unsure whether home care is the right fit, our in-home assessment will help you understand your options clearly.
No Place Like Home Care rates begin at $34 per hour for weekday day shifts, $36 per hour for evening, night, and weekend day shifts, and $38 per hour for weekend evening, night, and holiday shifts. Live-in care is offered at a flat daily rate. A one-time care coordination and onboarding fee of $375 applies. We accept private pay and long-term care insurance (LTCI). We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.
Most modern long-term care insurance (LTCI) policies do cover non-medical home care when services are provided through a licensed home care agency. No Place Like Home Care accepts LTCI and can provide the documentation your insurance company requires for reimbursement. Coverage eligibility and benefit amounts vary by policy — we recommend contacting your insurance provider with your policy number for specifics.
Standard Medicare does not cover long-term non-medical home care — personal care, companion care, household support, or custodial assistance — if that is the only care needed. Medicare covers short-term skilled medical home care (nursing, physical therapy) when a physician certifies medical necessity and homebound status. No Place Like Home Care is private pay and LTCI funded.
We require a 4-hour minimum per visit and a 16-hour weekly minimum commitment. These minimums ensure consistent, high-quality care and allow caregivers to build the kind of meaningful relationship that makes home care effective. We will discuss scheduling options during your in-home assessment and recommend a plan that fits your loved one's needs and your family's schedule.
Every caregiver at No Place Like Home Care undergoes comprehensive background checks, drug and TB screening, and reference verification before placement. All caregivers complete required training — including video-based and in-person competency evaluations — prior to serving any client. Our dementia-certified caregivers receive additional specialized training. Every care plan is overseen by Kelly Tyrrell, RN, our founder and CEO. We are licensed and regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Yes. Cognitive and memory care is one of our most requested and most carefully developed service areas. Our caregivers receive specialized training in dementia-specific communication, behavioral support, safety awareness, and routine reinforcement. We provide non-medical support across all stages — from early cognitive engagement to advanced Alzheimer's comfort care — and we work collaboratively alongside your loved one's medical team throughout.
Getting started is simple. Call or text us at (610) 492-6632, or schedule directly at noplacelikehomepa.com/schedule. If your family appears to be a good fit for our services, we will arrange a free in-home assessment with a Nurse Care Navigator. From there, we develop a personalized care plan, match your loved one with the right caregiver, and can typically begin services within days. Qualifying families receive their first 4 hours of care complimentary.
We are building something different — a care team where caregivers are genuinely valued, thoughtfully matched, and supported in doing meaningful work.
If you are a compassionate, dependable care professional looking for a position that respects your skills and your time, we would love to meet you.
We serve Berks, Lehigh, Lancaster, and Montgomery Counties, and we recruit through our partner TalentBright.
